Welcome, all to my 2021 Cheltenham Festival Preview Day 4 Free Tips, I will be writing a preview along with free tips for each day of this year’s biggest horse racing meeting.
The fourth day of the Cheltenham Festival is Friday 19th of March 2021 and the races for day one are listed below.
I will be covering the biggest races each day so on day 4 I will be covering the JCB Triumph Hurdle, the Albert Bartlett Novice’s Hurdle, The Cheltenham Gold Cup, and finally the Mrs. Paddy Power Mares Chase.
Cheltenham Day 4 Race Schedule
13:20 – JCB TRIUMPH HURDLE
13:55 – COUNTY HANDICAP HURDLE
14:30 – ALBERT BARTLETT NOVICES’ HURDLE
15:05 – CHELTENHAM GOLD CUP
15:40 – FOXHUNTER CHALLENGE CUP
16:15 – GRAND ANNUAL CHASE
16:50 – MARTIN PIPE CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS HURDLE
This is the biggest day of the festival so lets take a look at my chosen 4 picks in my chosen 4 races for the Yankee bet.
JCB Triumph Hurdle
Zanahiyr is my pick for the JCB this year, undefeated in its first 3 outings since moving from Gordon Elliot’s yard to Mrs. D Fosters, he won a maiden went straight into a grade 3 hurdle and won that, and finally on his last outing into a grade 2 and won that comfortably in the end.
He has the stamina and the ability to win this race and he could do it pretty easily given his recent progress, the chief threats would be Tritonic and Quilixios
Albert Bartlett Novice’s Hurdle
With Fakiera being around 5/1 at the time of writing this post the value feels too good to be true, this one being very useful over hurdles and looking like the stiffer stamina test will play to its strengths, for me a very good each-way bet in this race.
Others to watch out for are Stattler and Adrimel.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup
A massive race for this year’s meeting and one which on paper should only involve two runners for me and they are Al Boum Photo and Champ.
Al Boum Photo won this last year by a neck even after making two mistakes and being headed at one point going home, if he can get a clear run this time around he could be hard to peg back, he’s also been held back specifically for this race with just one outing since last years Gold Cup.
Champ has also been held back for this, he won the Novices at Cheltenham last year and is a solid stayer though there are questions on the trip as he has never run 3 mile 2 furlongs and not in a race with such competition so its questionable if he will live up to his name here.
Others to watch in the field are A Plus Tard, Minella Indo, and Santini all of which have an each-way shout. Overall though I have to side with Al Boum Photo in this one.
Mrs. Paddy Power Mares Chase
Finally, in the mares, my pick has to be Elimay who comprehensively won her last run out at Naas beating Shattered Love and Colreevy that day, those two are the chief threats for me but she looks like one to keep on the right side of going forward.
My Cheltenham Day 4 Yankee
With all four of those selections considered I am going to put them into a Yankee bet (not sure what that is check out my horse racing betting guide)
1.20 – Zanahiyr 5/4
2.30 – Fakiera 9/2
3.05 – Al Boum Photo 11/4
4.15 – Elimay 11/8
A 50p Yankee on these would cost about £5.50, but the return if they all win is around £162
