About The Tipster From The Tipster

“Hi, there, and thanks for having a look at my service with Tipsters’ Empire.

Here I’ll tell you a little about myself, the service, my approach, and what you can expect if signing up…

I’ve always been very interested in sports and oddly curious about statistics, even as a kid. In the naughties, I wrote the odd article here and there for a few sports and betting-related websites. In 2012 this became more serious when I entered a tipping competition, won and, following on from this, started running a service. Around a decade later I’m still going and looking forward to providing my tips and thoughts in this new home at Tipsters’ Empire.

As you would expect, my tipping has evolved over time and one of the many great aspects of horse racing is that there is always something new to learn, a different angle to examine, and an alternative approach to consider. It’s a continual process of learning, identifying and limiting any weaknesses while finding strengths and what suits you best. I’m proud to be able to bring with me some members who have followed this journey from the start and I look forward to welcoming anyone new to my selections and methods. For both, I hope that a decade’s worth of experience and development will mean that the best is yet to come.

I now tend to focus on sprints and feel this gives me the right number of races in which to try to find opportunities without being overstretched, which is an important balance to strike. There is simply too much racing to try to tackle everything and if you did you would have your time and knowledge diluted across all the various types of races to the point that it would be almost impossible to have enough depth and breadth to your analysis to have a consistently positive edge.

Having a focus also means that you are able to get to know the styles and characteristics of the competitors and because sprinters commonly run more frequently than those who run over further, this gives more information and form to work with. Watching replays is a key part of my approach and because sprints, by their nature, are the shortest type of races this means more can be watched and rewatched.

Tips will be sent between 10 and 11 in the morning. This is a time when prices are normally their most stable, coming after the evening before racing and early morning movements, but before the later trading takes place. That means you shouldn’t need to rush to get on and have the option of placing with bookies, at a time when Best Odds Guaranteed is commonly applied, or with exchanges where odds are typically slightly higher than those stated, thus making matching or beating advised prices and returns very achievable.

On average there will be 2 or 3 bets a day during the winter all-weather season and 3 to 4 in the summer, but this varies according to the schedule and the number of perceived opportunities that are found. Selections will come from all positions in the market, from short odds to outsiders, though the majority will be somewhere in between. The key is finding selections that have a better chance of success than their odds suggest. This often comes from finding one aspect or another that the majority of casual punters wouldn’t spot and these key points will be detailed in the write-ups that accompany the selections.

I hope you both enjoy and profit from my service and the selections.”
