Hello all and welcome to my Euro 2020 Longshot Tips, I am going to give you three countries that could be well worth a little punt on especially each way.
The delayed Euro 2020 tournament is set to go ahead with England now becoming more or less the host nation and the bookies favourite (why I don’t know), with France and Belgium also around 6/1 to win the tournament too.
Many people will say France will win, or Belgium but there are some dark horses in this competition that can certainly give you a run for your money.
So without further ado I am going to put a huge outsider in front of you in the shape of North Macedonia.
North Macedonia (500/1)
Massive odds and some may say for good reason but you have to remember they ahve qualified for this tournament over the likes of so called better countires such as Ireland and Iceland.
A long time ago Greece won the competition after only winning a single game, North Macedonia for me must win their first game against Austria, and if they can do that they have a chance to go into the last 16 either directly or for the best third-place finisher.
Their first tournament and nobody really knows much about them, how they play and they have nothing to lose, wanting to show everyone why they are here and what they can do.
Everyone loves an underdog story and backing these guys may not be a forlorn hope and could possibly be a good layoff opportunity as the Tournament progresses.
They have won a few surprising fixtures such as beating Germany 2-1 in a World Cup qualifier, most of their squad plays at the highest level across Europes best leagues.
Usually a defensive side they could certainly pose some countries difficulties and possibly get through some games via extra time and penalties should they make it that far into the last 16.
Denmark (33/1)
Denmark are another big priced side but price din a way that bookmakers fear they could outperform many peoples opinions.
They have only lost one game in the last 2 years or so and that was a 4-2 defeat against Belgium, they have beaten England 1-0 also in recent times.
With it being important to see they do not lose very often and they certainly know how to score goals (scored 14 in 3 games for World Cup qualifiers).
They can certainly get through the group with only Belgium likely the only side that will beat them and if not they should score enough goals to go through on the best third-place performer route.
Denmark are dark horses in this competition and should they managed to beat Belgium in the group stage you better stand up and take attention.
Croatia (33/1)
Who is in charge of bookmakers’ odds compiling these days, even though they are possibly not as stronger side as they were in the World Cup they did get to the final on their own merit and give a good account of themselves against France.
Though they are in a period of poor results we could see history repeating as it was a similar story when they were in the World Cup qualifiers, a shake affair that time too yet still got to the final.
They will want to go one better than in 2018 this time around and they have one or two players that are up and coming (one rumored to join Liverpool next season).
Put it this way I would have Croatia at shorter odds than England any day of the week and I support England!
Summary
So there you have it three Euro 2020 Longshot Tips worth backing each way, you have to bet with your head not your heart and I think any England fan would love us tow in the whole thing but betting on us at 5/1 is madness.
I will certainly have an each-way bet on these myself and I am really looking forward to the competition kicking off in just under a week now.
