These are just 5 horses that in our opinion will go well this year, we cannot guarantee it obviously but there’s no harm in following their progress throughout the year.
Here are our top 5 horses to follow in 2024..
Starting with our highest recommended horse as features in the post-image Alcantor.
1) Alcantor (Andre Fabre)
Will be running on 12th May 2024 in the French Guineas and hails from the Andre Fabre yard in France.
Looked top-class in a recent Group 1 race, where it seemed as if the only thing that took a toll was the bad ground.
The French Guineas looks like the type of race it should be coming home in front and it’s well worth adding this one to your tracker to follow its progress after that.
2) Azada (Dermot Weld)
This could be another Tarnawa or Tahera, Dermot Weld is a great source for classic winners.
Azada’s most notable success was in one of the fastest races on the day at the Punchestown Festival.
That day she beat a race-fit duo to take first place and the time was quicker than a group 3 that was run that same day, out of the incredible Amazour breeding line.
3) Naqeeb (William Haggis)
A potential group star Naqeeb from William Haggis’s yard is a half sibling to Baeed and Hookham.
He possesses the speed and power necessary to progress outside handicaps.
His first season of racing went reasonably well and we expect more progress for him in 2024.
4) Valvano (Ralph Beckett)
He could be anything this colt and he went off 8/11 in a Nottingham Maiden which has been won in the past by King Of Steel and Eldar Eldarov.
He is currently 50/1 for the Derby, he hosed up that day by 6 lengths in the maiden and could be anything going forward.
5) Elmalka (Roger Varian)
Won a Southwell Fillies maiden that has some real class in it on the day. She traveled well and even set a blistering sectional in the finishing split of that race and could have that race-winning finish that is needed in sprinting.

That completes our top 5 but here are a few other horses to take a look at in 2024.

All of the above horses have huge potential, sometimes horses do a lot better than expected.
