The quadruple has never been achieved in English football at the highest level. Manchester City came close to achieving that feat two years ago, winning the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup, however, they fell one leg short in the EFL Cup.
Guardiola will be hoping his side can go one step further this season and with the squad he has at his disposal, they have a great shot at doing it.
Premier League Defence Has Started Well
City have made an excellent start to their Premier League title defence. They have won four of their opening five matches in the campaign. Their next test comes in the North East against Newcastle. They are the 4/7 favourites for those placing a Newcastle vs Man City bet on the game.
The Manchester club have been successful in the Premier League in each of the last four seasons. They have football odds of 11/10 to extend that to five consecutive years. Arsenal and Liverpool are likely to be their main challengers this season, but both of those teams have dropped points already, so they will need to chase the champions.

Guardiola is fortunate to have the best squad available in the Premier League. He has depth in every position, so should injuries hit his starting XI, he has players to call upon to fill those slots.
Champions League Toughest Test
The Champions League is arguably the toughest competition Manchester City will be involved in this year. They were eliminated by Real Madrid last season in a classic quarter-final tie which went to penalties.

City are one of the 36 teams involved in the league phase of the new-look competition. They will play eight matches and then if they finish in the top eight in the group, they will automatically qualify for the last 16. The English champions should be able to secure enough points to do that.
Guardiola’s side have consistently reached the latter stages of the Champions League in recent years. They have been a little unlucky in knockout games, losing some tight contests. With their former skipper Ilkay Gundogan back in the squad, their European prospects have been boosted.
Excellent Record in Cup Competitions
Guardiola has won the EFL Cup four times and the FA Cup twice during his time at Manchester City. Last season, they also reached the final of the FA Cup, but they were beaten by local rivals Manchester United at Wembley.
Manchester City have been given a favourable home draw against Championship side Watford in the third round of the EFL Cup. Even if Guardiola rest some of his big names for that tie, they should have enough quality to progress into the next round. City top the EFL Cup outright betting at 3/1 as they bid to win the trophy for the fifth time in the last eight years.
City’s FA Cup campaign will begin in January in the third round. They are 7/2 favourites to win the competition. They have reached at least the semi-final in each of the last six years.
Should City go on and win the quadruple this season, it would go down as the greatest achievement in the history of English football.
