Croatia Getting Old?
Lots of talk that Croatia is too old and are a bit past it now to mount a challenge, well I personally think what a load of rubbish, some of these players are world cup winners for Croatia and that experience will pay in the latter stages if they make it there.
Rakitic is just one player on the team that can change a match in the blink of an eye, facing a Belgium side that looks like a shadow of their former selves, Croatia could easily beat them and go through.
Belgium Have Been Poor…
Belgium has been very poor throughout, losing to Morroco most notably is what many would have said is a game that they should have been winning comfortably.
Instead, they find themselves in a battle for a place in the last 16 with Morocco and Croatia, they MUST win this game to proceed into the next stage of the competition.
The question is can they pull it out of the fire? I personally don’t think they can and I think Croatia can hold them to either a draw or can sneak a narrow win over the Belgians putting through a deserving Morocco and a battle-hardened Croatia.

Belgium has won the last 3 of 5 meetings against Croatia with the other games ending in a draw and Croatia winning just one.
FIFA World Rankings put Croatia at rank 14 and Belgium at rank 1 (the best in the world), but even with this knowledge Belgium has lost 3 of their last 5 matches and has conceded 6 goals in 5 whilst scoring only 4 goals for themselves.
Belgium has the ability but whether they can completely turn their form around will remain to be seen, it will require some big changes I feel for this to become a possibility.
The Croatia Vs Belgium Match Prediction Is…A Tight win for Croatia
So yes I can see Croatia squeezing Belgium out of the competition in a narrow victory, or less likely a draw.
Both teams to score seems likely but do not take it for granted with under 2.5 goals very much a possibility, I would say the scoreline could be 1-0, 1-1, or 2-1 for Croatia.
Rakitic is starting looks value for anytime goalscorer as he looks likely to get on the scoresheet once more in a tournament.
