Aintree Day 2 Schedule

2.20pm – The Crabbie’s Top Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1)

2.50pm – The Betway Mildmay Novices’ Steeple Chase (Grade 1)

3.25pm – The JLT Melling Steeple Chase (Grade 1)

4.05pm – The Randox Health Topham Steeple Chase (Grade 3)

4.40pm – The Doom Bar Sefton Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 1)

5.15pm -The Weatherbys Champion Standard Open NH Flat (Grade 2)

Like I said above I will be covering 4 of these races for my free Yankee tip and I will begin with the Top Novices Hurdle which is a Grade 1 race.

Top Novices Hurdle 2.20

I can’t really look past My Drogo in this race who is obviously a very good p[rospect and before the day comes round may well be shorter in the market.

The only danger to my selection for me will be Dreal Deal, but as long as there are no unusual race tactics put to use this can go the way of My Drogo who is also a very good prospect.

Mildmay Novices 2.50

Politilogue is my selection for the Mildmay if managing to get into the race, has good form coming into it and the race could well be run to suit.

That being said there are two others that could surprise, Coko Beach and The Big Breakaway can certainly also be involved in what looks quite a competitive race on paper.

Topham Chase 4.05

I am siding with Two For Gold in the Topham he has proven form over the distance, is in good form in general, and wasn’t all that far behind Grand National favourite Cloth Cap in his last outing in a listed contest at Kelso.

Threats to the selection are obviously Liveloveluagh and Farclas who both have good form also coming into this, Farclas however has never won over the distance and Livelovelaugh hasn’t won since 2018.

Sefton Novices 4.40

Finally in the Sefton my selection has to be The Shunter, though he is entered in more than one race I feel he has the best chance in this one.

Been imrpving of late and took a Grade 3 last time out making it two wins from his last two runs and remains with plenty of potential.

Dangers are Adrimel and Dreal Deal, its hard to say at the moment though with many horses entered in more than one race until the final declarations are released.

My Aintree Day 2 Yankee

With all four of those selections considered I am going to put them into a Yankee bet (not sure what that is check out my horse racing betting guide) some selections may end up not running for whatever reason.

2.20 – My Drogo 2/1

2.50 – Politilogue 2/1

4.05 – Two For Gold 10/1

4.40 – The Shunter 9/2

A 50p Yankee on these would cost about £5.50, but the return if they all win is around £612.25.
