English Premier League 2018/19 Season Predictions…
The 2018/19 Premier League season is just a couple of weeks away. Punters are already busy at different sportsbooks including NetBet placing bets on teams that they think will win the title this season. As the summer transfer window is still open, it’s difficult to judge the strength of each team as all teams can lose their best players and all teams have also the chance to strengthen further by acquiring new players. However, be that as it may, let’s look at the teams that are likely to compete for the Premier League title this year based on their current squads.
Liverpool
Liverpool’s 2017/18 season was absolutely phenomenal, in the league, the team managed to push Manchester City all the way and in the Champions League, the team managed to reach the final losing agonizingly to Real Madrid. On top of that impressive team, Jürgen Klopp splashed more cash during this transfer window bringing in the likes of Alisson, Xherdan Shaqiri, Naby Keita and Fabinho. Liverpool’s impressive transfer dealings are the sole reason why it finds itself on top of this list.
Manchester City
The defending champions will be hoping to emulate their impressive performances of last season. Pep Guardiola showed the world that he has what it takes to compete in any league as he quashed assertions that the English Premier League is the most difficult league in the world. Manchester City has managed to keep the core of their team from last season while also strengthening by bringing in the likes of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City. Manchester City’s experience in lifting the Premier League title last season may well work in their favour again this season. Coupled with Pep Guardiola’s appetite for success, Manchester City is also a threat for this season.
Manchester United
Manchester United was expected to be busy during this transfer window searching for top talents but that has not been the case thus far. There is still time, however, to bring in more faces in addition to the team’s acquisition of Fred. Nonetheless, Manchester United is still expected to produce this season considering the calibre of the players they have within their ranks. Paul Pobga showed that he is still the midfielder he was at Juventus when he led the French national team to World Cup glory. Alexis Sanchez, on the other hand, is now familiar with the Manchester United surroundings and is expected to perform better than he did when he joined last season more so considering also the fact that he has had an extended break as his national team Chile failed to qualify for the football World Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur
This is perhaps the season that Mauricio Pochettino and his Spurs side have to seriously challenge for the title. In previous seasons, Spurs have pushed but fallen short at the last hurdle. With the experience they have amassed over the last few years, certainly, Spurs should be a force. Failure to compete this season may spell the end of a golden era in Spurs history as it’s unlikely that the team’s top stars will keep on playing for the team without lifting any silverware.
That concludes these English Premier League 2018/19 Season Predictions.
