Morocco A Strong Contender
Morocco has already proven they have enough quality to progress in this tournament and of the outsiders, they by far look like one of the stronger teams that could cause an upset.
Whether they can do it against Spain remains to be seen, Spain did lose their last game of the group’s stage and looked a little shocked and genuinely seemed to be giving it their all in it which may cause concern.
Ziyech has shone for the Moroccans he has been creating and making good runs and causing opposition teams all kinds of issues at the back, if he can continue this here Spain will have to quell him and fast.
Morocco has never beaten Spain before in the 3 times they have met, their best result was a 2-2 draw if they can match that here this game could well go to penalties.
Spain Eased Off At The End Of The Group Stage?
There is a good argument for Spain not giving 100% in their last game as they had already qualified but to me, they did look a little shell shocked and we all know they don’t like to lose.
The fact that they did lose that game may well spur them on to be even more deadly against a gutsy Moroccan side.
Spain may well send out a message as England did against Senegal here, but if they fail to make an impact in the first half I do see this one going all the way to extra time and or penalties.
Morocco Vs Spain Match Predictions – Extra Time And Pens
I am going to call it and say this will go all the way to extra time then but I do see both teams scoring possibly a similar scenario to the Japan-Croatia game, 1-1 at full time and going to extra time then penalties where I see Spain going through.
The first goalscorer bet would be either Ziyech or Morata, I will slide with Morata as Spain are likelier to score first overall.
Both teams to score seems nailed on here, unless obviously, Spain dominates early on, it’s all about the first 30 mins for me here, and you could potentially wait for kick-off and try in-play betting on this one.
