Are Portugal The Same Without Ronaldo?
Given all the issues with Ronaldo and Manchester United of late Ronaldo will want to show any critics he can still do it in the latter stages of his career.
But it remains to be seen if he will start or be on the bench, Portugal may have other players that are in far better form than Ronaldo this season but are they the same side without him is the question.
They are 14/1 to lift the cup this season meaning they have a good chance but are in no way the bookies favourite, whilst Uruguay are 40/1 to win the cup.
Uruguay A Team To Keep On The Right Side Of
You can never really write off Uruguay they have some very good talented players most notably in the form of Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez who can certainly get a goal.
The Uruguay side has lost only 2 of their last 10 matches whereas Portugal has lost 3, notably, Uruguay lost to Iran 1-0 but after seeing them play the other day it’s easy to see why a side like that may have made it awkward for them to play.
Both sides will be looking to avoid a loss and I have noticed many sides have been playing over cautiously in the opening fixtures, but I think Uruguay will certainly be going all out to win this.
Portugal Vs Uruguay Prediction – Uruguay edge a narrow win
A close game with Uruguay edging it in my opinion, you can’t really read too much into the first games teams play in World Cups and literally, anything can happen in football.
I think both teams will score and I think that Uruguay will edge it in what may be a surprise to some.
I also think that Nunez can get on the score sheet, also if Ronaldo did start he would be a good any-time goalscorer bet.
