The danger that has stemmed from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has all but brought the world to a standstill. People are quarantining themselves globally, shops are shutting, governments are panicking, and everyone is hoping and praying that the virus will be brought under control as soon as possible.

As for the world of sports, nothing like this has been seen since the Second World War. Almost all professional sports leagues and competitions have been halted and there are no signs as to when they will restart again. It was announced earlier this week that Euro 2020 will be delayed until 2021 and although football league chiefs have spoken of their insistence that the remainder of the 2019/20 seasons will be completed, nobody is sure when it will be safe for football to commence again.

Former Manchester United and England footballer and current SkySports pundit Gary Neville recently spoke of a “festival of football” which would see the remaining matches be played across a two-week period behind closed doors. Neville stated that this would “help bring some joy back to the nation”. Football in England has been suspended until at least the end of April.

No more sports… where can I go?

Due to football and every major sport being suspended, we cannot offer you much in the way of sports betting tips. However, what we can say is that it is likely that the majority of sports bettors will instead head to online casinos to get their excitement.

There are hundreds of online casinos on the internet so it can be hard deciding which to pick. First and foremost, it is important that you pick a safe and secure casino. Secondly, we would recommend you pick a casino which offers both classic casino games, the likes of Blackjack, poker and Roulette. We would also advise you to pick a casino which allows you to play sport themed games.

We would recommend sports betting fans to head to the UK online casino PlayFrank which offers a variety of the usual UK casino games but also ones that come with a sports theme to them.

What games do PlayFrank casino offer?

PlayFrank will offer you the opportunity to play football themed slot games such as Football Champions Cup. Football Champions Cup is a football simulator game that allows you to place bets on made up football teams before a match.

The clubs you can bet on are based on real life Premier League football teams. Before the game, the odds are revealed, and you are able to choose how much you wish to bet. You can bet on the outcome, halftime/fulltime scores, number of goals – numerous other odds are offered too. After placing your bet, you then get to watch the match being played out in state of the art 3d graphics – Football Manager style but with superior graphics.

Just because real sports ae not being played does not mean that you can’t bet on virtual sports. Online casinos such as PlayFrank are offering just this for sports fans.

When will live sports resume?

The truth of the mater is that we do not know when live sports will resume. Covid-19 has locked down most of Europe certainly as well as a huge chunk of the world and quarantine periods do not look like coming to an end soon. The good news is that China seems to have managed to massively slow their death rate, so much so that, according to the Independent, Italy now has more recorded Covid-19 deaths than China does.

Football chiefs are still positive that European football leagues will resume again within the next few months – but we are not so sure. Until sports do resume though, we hope you will enjoy PlayFrank’s selection of classic casino games and football themed slot games. Sport is often the only thing that keeps many of us sane in this world. Here’s hoping we get it back soon.
