Hello and welcome to my Aston Villa Vs Man City EFL Cup Final Prediction page, I will give my informed opinion on what I think will happen in today’s EFL cup final.
Kick-Off: 4.30 PM UK time at Wembley Stadium
Aston Villa possible starting lineup:
Nyland; Konsa, Mings, Hause; Guilbert, Nakamba, Luiz, Targett; El Ghazi, Samatta, Grealish
Man City possible starting lineup:
Bravo; Cancelo, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Mendy; De Bruyne, Rodri, D Silva; Mahrez, Aguero, Sterling
Though I have a loathing for Aston Villa they have managed to make it to Wembley even though they are dwelling at the bottom of the English Premier League after two fantastic performances over the weekend by Watford and Norwich, this fixture possibly puts them on the backfoot there too.
Man City have a case ongoing which could threaten their chances of Champions League football amongst other things flying about in the news, chances are none of that will happen but they will want to focus on the here and now and claim any silverware they can.
City dismantled Villa in the EPL last time with a 1-6 drubbing at Villa Park, Villa looked poor there and though they often have a goal in them this is another likely drubbing in store.
Given the fact that Villa has not won their last 3 fixtures some of which you could arguably say where winnable, it doesn’t put them in great shape for a match of this velocity, there is the cup final unknown element as ever but Manchester City are just far too strong.
De Bruyne has been formidable this season and he alone can destroy Villas hopes, Sterling is another and of course Rodri then you can throw Aguero into the mix for jokes and you’re looking at a side with quality all over the field and the bench.
There is little to like about Villa apart from their EFL cup form but I just cannot see an upset here, fair play to them if they can pull it off though.

My Aston Villa Vs Man City Predictions
I think this fixture is the ideal fixture to go for a player to score a hat trick, though I would wait for the teamsheet before selecting the striker of choice to do this.
- Over 2.5 Goals in the game
- A Hat trick to be scored
- A penalty to be awarded
- A red card to be given
Correct score prediction
Aston Villa 1 Man City 5
Sorry Villa fans I just don’t think it will be your day and you would have to know that today if you go there and win you are really going to have to have earned it.
